Baton Rouge has been the unofficial birthplace of the Blues for decades, with legendary players like Buddy Guy, Slim Harpo, Raful Neal, and others calling the capital city home, and greats like Allen Toussaint and Clarence ‘Gatemouth’ Brown that would drive to town to play small, dark bars in front of dedicated fans that stay until closing.
